Rosso Pomodoro, a Naples, Italy-founded pizza chain that chose Denver as its first U.S. city with a standalone location, has closed both of its restaurants here, in Denver’s Central Park neighborhood and in Greenwood Village.
“Our restaurants in Denver are now closed. We thank you all for letting us introduce you to, or rekindle your love for, the Neapolitan culture,” the company wrote on its Instagram page on Nov. 24.
Ross Pomodoro is primarily known for its locations inside Eataly food markets in cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. At one time, it had 140 locations worldwide, including 70 in Italy, according to a 2024 statement.
It opened its fast-casual Central Park location, 7505 E. 29th Pl., in Denver in June 2024, serving Neopolitan-style pizzas baked at 900 degrees for just 90 seconds. A second store, at 8575 E. Arapahoe Road, followed in July of last year.
“The local staff has been put through a robust training program led by professional fifth-generation Italian pizzaiolos,” the company said at the time. “The Rosso Pomodoro Denver location boasts a patented pizza oven shipped direct from Italy and finished with the brand’s iconic gold tiles.”
