Longmont’s newly elected mayor, Susie Hidalgo-Fahring, and the two newly elected at-large city councilmembers, Jake Marsing and Crystal Prieto, will assume their respective positions at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council chambers, 350 Kimbark St., during an organizational meeting and regular City Council session.

Being sworn in are Hidalgo-Fahring, who currently serves as mayor pro-tem and Ward 3 representative; Marsing and Prieto; and Matthew Popkin, who was originally appointed to his Ward 2 seat in January and won his election in November.

A special election to fill the Ward 3 seat will be held March 3, 2026.

The council will say farewell to Mayor Joan Peck and outgoing councilmembers Aren Rodriguez and Shiquita Yarbrough.

Agenda items include the election of a new mayor pro tem by secret ballot, in which the new councilmembers will cast confidential votes to select a member to serve as the new mayor pro tem, as well as finalizing the Longmont Urban Renewal Authority meeting schedule for 2026 and City Council liaison appointments to boards.
