Almost 6,000 people were without power across Colorado’s Front Range on Tuesday as swept through the state, according to outages reported by Xcel Energy and CORE Electric Cooperative.
Xcel Energy crews were responding to power outages across metro Denver and the mountain corridor, including outages impacting 2,514 customers near Idaho Springs and 1,455 customers near Boulder, according to .
Power was restored to all but 369 customers near Idaho Springs as of 11:45 a.m.
Approximately 500 other customers reported additional outages across the metro.
High winds and blowing snow cut power to 1,374 customers, including roughly 1,200 in Park County, the
“Crews are assessing and will work as quickly as possible to restore service,” officials said.
High winds also closed several highways on Tuesday, and a from the National Weather Service is active for north-central Colorado through Tuesday night.
