A man was shot and injured Tuesday night by police outside of a Severance home, investigators said.
Severance officers responded to a domestic violence incident in the 600 block of Mt Princeton Drive shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to a from the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team, posted to social media by the .
The Severance Police Department was the only agency on the scene, Greeley police spokesperson Kristen Duus said.
When the Severance officers arrived, a 33-year-old man was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car parked in the home’s driveway, according to the release. Investigators said he was armed with several weapons.
An unidentified officer shot the man once, police said. Paramedics took him to the hospital, where he is expected to survive.
Additional information about the events leading up to the shooting was not available on Wednesday.
The officer was placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team’s investigation into the shooting, police said.
