A pedestrian died Friday night in a crash on E. 160th Avenue , according to the police department.
Thornton officers responded to the fatal crash in the 7600 block of E. 160th Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, near Quebec Street, according to a from the police department.
E. 160th Avenue, also known as Colorado 7, was closed for nearly four hours late Friday night and early Saturday morning for the crash investigation and cleanup.
The driver, an unidentified 39-year-old man, stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Thornton police said. As of Tuesday, no one had been arrested in connection with the crash.
Police said the man was driving east on 160th when he struck a 36-year-old woman in the road, police said. The woman, who has not been publicly identified, died from her injuries at the scene of the crash.
Her identity and cause of death will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
