A man accused of robbing and sexually assaulting women working in Denver-area massage businesses took a deal and pleaded guilty Monday to two felonies.
Trevondus Estes, 37, was charged in 2020 with dozens of felony counts in the string of crimes, including robbery, kidnapping, sexual assault, burglary, menacing and numerous weapons charges, according to Denver court records. He also faced several misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and theft.
Estes took a deal and pleaded guilty Monday to two felony charges: attempted sexual assault and second-degree kidnapping, court records show.
The 37-year-old man faces up to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced on Jan. 22, according to the .
Estes was arrested in 2020 in connection with a series of armed robberies at massage businesses in Denver and Lakewood.
Denver officers responded to one of the sexual assaults at about 10:15 p.m. on Nov. 9, 2020, according to Estes’ arrest affidavit.
The victim, an employee at a massage spa in the 900 block of N. Federal Boulevard, told officers she had been assaulted by a man at gunpoint inside, according to the document.
She told officers that the man had entered the spa shortly before 10 p.m. and asked about a massage. She said he then pulled out his gun, pointed it at the victim and ordered her into a massage room, where he forced oral sex and intercourse on her, police wrote in the affidavit.
DNA collected from the massage room was matched to Estes, according to the affidavit.
Information about the other alleged assaults was not included in the arrest affidavit.
