Pat Bryant’s recent stretch of tough injury luck continues.
The Broncos rookie wideout left the AFC Championship Game in the first half due to a hamstring injury and was later ruled out. Bryant, Denver’s third-round pick out of Illinois last April, has now been injured in three of his last four games.
The 23-year-old suffered a scary-looking concussion in Week 16 against Jacksonville, when he was carted off the field and taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Then, Bryant left last week’s divisional win over Buffalo in the first quarter with another concussion.
Bryant had three catches for 32 yards in that game, and finished the regular season with 31 catches for 378 yards and one TD in 15 games. Prior to his injury against Jacksonville, his role in the Denver offense had been increasing, including a career-high 82 yards receiving in the 22-19 home win over Kansas City on Nov. 16.
With no Bryant against the Patriots, that means more snaps for Lil’Jordan Humphrey, while Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr. will have to carry the majority of the playmaking load at the position.
