A person collided with a tree at Eldora Mountain Ski Resort on Wednesday afternoon, and a helicopter was going to Nederland to take the person to a hospital.
The person has injuries serious enough to warrant a helicopter transport, according to Boulder County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Carrie Haverfield, who did not know the extent of the person’s injuries. The sheriff’s office took the call at about 1 p.m., Haverfield said.
Weather in the area prevented the helicopter from landing at Eldora, so it was set to land in Nederland, where the person is being taken, Haverfield said.
Information about whether the person was skiing, snowboarding or otherwise, and any identifying information about them was not available.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
