Eastbound I-70 reopens in Colorado mountains after multiple crashes

Loveland Pass is also closed, state officials said

Eastbound Interstate 70 and Loveland Pass were closed for over an hour Friday night because of multiple crashes near Eisenhower Tunnel and adverse road conditions, state officials said.

at Silverthorne and eastbound U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass reopened as of 7:45 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

State officials warned of “long delays” after closing the highway at 6 p.m.

A winter storm is expected to drop up to 8 inches of snow in the mountains tonight and early Saturday morning, according to a from the National Weather Service.
