Actress and comedian Rebel Wilson will visit the University of Colorado Boulder to speak during a student-organized, public event on April 15.

“An Evening With Rebel Wilson” will be held at 7 p.m. April 15 at Macky Auditorium, 1595 Pleasant St. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and tickets are available for purchase online at . Tickets are $2 for students, $8 for CU faculty and staff and $15 for the general public, but may include additional fees.

Wilson is well known for her acting roles in “Bridesmaids” and the “Pitch Perfect” movies. She began her acting career in Australia, where she was born and raised. Wilson has worked as a producer and became an author with the publication of her memoir, “Rebel Rising,” in 2024, where she details her unconventional journey to becoming an actress and the personal insecurities and challenges she faces.

The event is organized by the student-run Distinguished Speakers Board, which brings speakers to campus who engage and challenge society through their actions and ideas. The board, composed entirely of CU Boulder students, has previously hosted Anderson Cooper, Trevor Noah, Garry Kasparov, Hank Green, Chloe Kim, Jennette McCurdy and Giancarlo Esposito.

Cooper Baldwin, a CU Boulder student and the chair of the Distinguished Speakers Board, said Wilson’s story shows the importance of individuality and how success can come from unexpected places.

“Rebel Wilson has built a career by turning individuality into a strength,” Baldwin said . “Her willingness to take risks, challenge expectations and bring humor into everything she does makes her a compelling voice for students thinking about how to carve out their own path.”
