As Colorado wraps up its worst winter snowsports season in recent memory, ski resorts around the state continue to announce canceled events and early closing days, even as forecasters are predicting snow this week.
The latest announcements come from Keystone Ski Resort in Summit County and Telluride Ski Resort.
“The snow we needed for this weekend’s Pond Skim & Rail Jam started summer break early, and those events are unfortunately cancelled,” , adding that the resort is “bummed not to be sending off the season with a splash. … Everyone who already purchased entry into the Pond Skim and Rail Jam will be issued a refund.”
Keystone will still host various parties with music and food on Saturday and Sunday. It closes for the season on April 5.
Telluride, meanwhile, that today, March 31, could be its last day unless a predicted snowstorm drops enough moisture to make more days worth the effort.
“Reopening plans will be determined based on weather conditions, with the goal of reopening for a closing weekend if forecasted snowfall materializes,” the resort wrote on Instagram. “We are grateful to our on-mountain teams for their exceptional work maintaining operations throughout the season. The safety of our guests and employees remains our highest priority.”
