The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office has dismissed a case involving a Boulder police officer after a reported domestic dispute.
Jonathan Hill, 34, remains subject to a Boulder Police Department professional standards administrative investigation, according to Dionne Waugh, a department spokesperson.
Arvada police arrested Hill in December on a harassment charge after a woman told police Hill picked her up and moved her away from his pickup truck during a child custody exchange, according to an arrest affidavit. The DA’s Office dismissed that charge on Friday, according to online court records.
The DA’s Office could not comment on why the charge was dismissed, as the case has been sealed.
Hill, who joined the Boulder Police Department in April 2024, remains employed while the administrative investigation is ongoing, Waugh said on Thursday.
At the time of his arrest, Hill was placed on paid administrative leave, per department policy, according to a post to the . Waugh did not say whether Hill was still on administrative leave following the dismissal of the harassment charge.
The woman told police she was buckling their child into a car seat when Hill yelled at her to get away from his pickup truck and picked her up off the ground, according to the affidavit.
Hill told police he told the woman to get away from his truck and decided to physically move her because he “does not trust her and does not want her anywhere near his property,” the affidavit states.
