The warm, dry weather has slipped back into more spring-like conditions with cooler temperatures and moisture forecast across metro Denver and into the mountains.
The National Weather Service in Boulder said numerous showers are expected in the afternoon and early evening, along with isolated thunderstorms. Below-normal temperatures are predicted for most of the upcoming week.
The temperature in Denver Sunday is forecast to reach 58 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 70%.
Saturday’s high temperature in Denver of 54 degrees was 9 degrees below normal and 18 degrees below Friday’s high temperature.
More moisture and cool weather are expected in the upcoming week in the Denver area. Shower and thunderstorms are likely Monday with a possible thunderstorm after 2 p.m. The high temperature will be around 60 degrees.
More showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon Tuesday, with a higher 62.
Forecasters said a round of snow will fall across the mountains Sunday. Winter weather advisories are in effect until 6 a.m. Monday, with accumulations of snow between 2 and 8 inches predicted.
Areas covered by the advisories include Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park, the mountains in Summit County, the Mosquito Range and Indian Peaks.
Cooler and unsettled weather on the way…finally.
