has been part of Colorado’s fabric since 1952, when it started on the steps of Mackey Auditorium on the CU Boulder campus.

Seventy years later, Elevations continues to prioritize its members and employees while consistently delivering results.

More than a traditional bank

Elevations distinguishes itself by providing practical solutions to nearly 179,000 members as a member-focused credit union.

Offerings include free seminars, financial counseling, and educational resources designed to help members achieve their financial goals rather than simply promoting products.

“We exist not to sell, but to serve,” says Kathleen Hoxworth, Senior Vice President of People.

This philosophy shapes all interactions, guiding employees and supporting the credit union’s goal of delivering exceptional service to every member.

A workplace that walks the talk

Elevations supports employees with seven resource groups, regular engagement surveys, and a strong culture of psychological safety. Engagement scores consistently rank in the 90th percentile.

Employees receive up to 16 hours of paid volunteer time each year. Since 2010, the Local Change Foundation has contributed over $4 million to community resources.

“As an employer, we strive to make Elevations the best place our employees have ever worked, relying heavily on our culture of learning, excellence, caring, and purpose,” Hoxworth says.

A culture of innovation

Elevations has received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award twice, in 2014 and 2020, a distinction held by fewer than 15 organizations nationwide. This recognition demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement as digital banking, data security, and member expectations evolve.

The People team regularly reviews workforce trends and updates programs to remain proactive.

Meaningful Colorado-based benefits

Elevations fully leverages the unique advantages of working in Colorado.

The central support office, known as “Basecamp,” accommodates nearly 300 employees and offers a 2,680-square-foot gym, ping pong tables, a subsidized café, walking trails, employee gardens, a mountain-view patio, and a new pickleball court.
