After Wednesday’s 4-2 Game 1 loss, the Avalanche battled the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 2 of the NHL Western Conference Final.

The Avalanche had not lost a game in regulation this entire season after leading at first intermission.

That streak was snapped by the Vegas Golden Knights at the worst possible time in Game 2, when Colorado desperately needed a win to draw even.

With a 3-1 loss, the Avs now trail 2-0 in a series thatap quickly getting away from them as they head to the Strip. Vegas scored all three goals in the last 11 minutes, capped by a deflating empty-netter to send fans for the exits early at Ball Arena on Friday.
