Summer thunderstorms could produce this afternoon, National Weather Service forecasters said.

The agency issued a for the northeastern corner of Colorado until 9 p.m., including Cheyenne, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties.

Almost every county in Colorado is under some kind of severe weather watch or warning, with most communities seeing red flag warnings for dangerous fire weather because of high temperatures, low humidity and high winds.

Forecasters also issued a for parts of Adams, Arapahoe and Washington counties because of a storm capable of producing ping pong ball-sized hail and winds up to 60 mph.

This is a developing story.
