Tens of thousands of customers are without power in Colorado’s Vail Valley because of a “transmission-related outage,” officials said Tuesday evening.

A large outage is affecting 27,000 customers along the Interstate 70 corridor, including Vail, Avon, Eagle and Gypsum, according to a utility outage map. The cooperative has approximately .

Crews are working with Xcel Energy to restore power, but there is no estimated time of restoration, Holy Cross Energy officials said in an alert at 4:15 p.m.
