
Right before the kicks off its 2026-27 home opener, the reigning NCAA champions will celebrate last year’s title-winning squad at Magness Arena.
DU will raise the banner for its 2025-26 NCAA championship — the 11th in the program’s history — before the start of its Oct. 16 game against the Michigan Wolverines. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. start. It’s the first of a two-game series that continues at 6 p.m. Oct. 17.
Denver beat Wisconsin, 2-1, in the finals to capture the title in April. The Pioneers have won two of the last three national titles and three of the previous five.
A limited number of replica banners will be available while supplies last.
This is the first time Denver and Michigan will face-off in a regular=season game since March 1981 at the old DU Arena. DU also beat the then top-seeded Wolverines, 4-3, in double overtime to advance to the finals last season.
Denver opens its season on the road against Alaska Anchorage on Oct. 2.
