Denverites should plan for detours around Union Station as preparations ramp up for the fan festival on Oct. 10-11, according to Regional Transportation District officials.

The festival brings together soccer fans for big-screen and other events to offer a taste of the match-day experience, organizers said. Event registration is now closed, but it will be broadcast on NBC, Peacock and the USA Network.

Commuters should expect road closures, some parking restrictions and limited access to Union Station starting Monday, RTD leaders said in a news release.

The 17th Street and Wynkoop Street entrances to Union Station will be closed during the festival on Oct. 10-11, and customers will be directed to 16th Street for bus and rail service.

Commuters also can access rail platforms and the bus concourse from the 16th Street FreeRide stop at Wazee Street by walking through the breezeway between Bank of America and Lucchese, RTD officials said.
