The Broncos appear to have avoided a big blow on the injury front.
Second-year wide receiver Pat Bryant has an ankle sprain but avoided a major injury in the second half on Sunday against San Francisco, a source confirmed Monday morning to The Post.
Bryant, 23, was tackled awkwardly at the end of a 31-yard catch-and-run and was immediately in pain. He eventually need a cart to the locker room and did not return to the game.
The 2025 third-round draft pick avoided any major damage, though, and now is thought to be in line to miss a matter of weeks. That is essentially a best-case scenario for the Broncos, who also believe that star cornerback Pat Surtain II avoided the worst when he went down with a non-contact ankle injury in the second quarter against the Niners.
Bryant had three catches for 47 yards when he was hurt Sunday and so far this season has nine grabs for 133 yards and a touchdown.
“He’s a great football player. He’s meant a lot to us,” quarterback Bo Nix said of Bryant after the game. “Hopefully, it’s not too bad and we’ll get him back sooner rather than later. But I know he’ll be aggressive in rehab and I know he wants to be
back out there with us. We’ve just got to find a way to fill in his spots and continue to find a way to get better.”
