Pedestrian killed in early morning collision in Montbello parking lot

The city has reported 49 traffic deaths so far this year

A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood early Sunday morning, according to the Denver Police Department.

The crash happened in a parking lot at about 2 a.m. It was immediately reported to police and the person driving the vehicle remained on the scene, said Denver police officer Kurt Barnes.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

DPD had no other information available about the circumstances of the crash or the identities of the two people involved.

As of Oct. 11, 49 traffic deaths in Denver so far this year.
