Modified bikes help wounded veterans heal in Honor Ride

WESTCLIFFE, COLORADO--AUGUST 18, 2005--The steeple of th eHope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Westcliffe is framed in front of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. The historic building, which was built in 1917, is considered the oldest Lutheran church in Colorado. There are nearly 25 Christian churches serving the Westcliffe and neighboring Silver Cliff communities with population of about 1,000 people. The church's pastor, Wayne Riddering , personally opposed the showing of a Harry Potter movie at the Jones Theater, which houses the Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts. Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts Theater director Anne Kimball Relph decided not to allow the play, What We Don't Know, which also received accolades by Westcliffe's own art director , to be performed in Westcliffe because of a lack of suitable actors and the controversial subject matter of the play. Riddering contacted Relph to urge her not to show the Potter film because of its references to witchcraft, which Riddering opposes even if it's used for good purposes.
