Ben Botkin is former Denver Post reporter. He has covered politics and state government in Idaho, Nevada and Oklahoma. Before catching the political bug, he covered education, cops and courts and rural communities. Botkin has received Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists regional awards for investigative journalism, statehouse beat reporting and education reporting. He began his career in 2003 covering local government in Idaho. A native of East Peoria, Illinois, he graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
