Ryan Novak, a quarterback who will be a sophomore on Heritage's varsity team this season. Novak, who is already 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, has been generating buzz this summer. He could stem an expected dip for Heritage, the defending Class 4A champion who move up to 5A this year. In Novak, though, Heritage appears to have a star in the making. Last season, he completed three of the four passes he threw for 42 yards. In June, he turned heads at the Rocky Mountain Combine. A month later, Novak was listed as the No. 6 quarterback in the Western Region among the Class of 2013. Earlier this month, he was one of 100 invited to the Junior Rank Diamond Flight Camp and those there took notice of his arm. (Novak's throwing motion was described as "effortless.")
