Aurora theater shooting suspect James Holmes is shown in the courtroom during his arraignment March 12. Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and wounding at least 58 others with gunfire in an Aurora theater on July 20. A judge entered a not guilty plea to the charges on Holmes' behalf after his attorneys refused to enter a plea. In a surprise motion filed Wednesday, lawyers for Holmes said he has offered to plead guilty in exchange for life in prison with no chance of parole.
