Update 4:45 p.m.: Colorado’s Front Range and Eastern Plains could see tornadoes, tennis ball-sized hail and high winds this afternoon and tonight, forecasters said in a weather alert.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a broad most of the state east of the Interstate 25 corridor until 9 p.m., including Adams, Arapahoe, Baca, Bent, Cheyenne, Crowley, Denver, Elbert, El Paso, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Las Animas, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Otero, Phillips, Prowers, Pueblo, Sedgwick, Washington, Weld and Yuma counties.
