There were two types of boats and races at the fest 鈥攖he Taiwan-style boat, or 鈥渇lag-catching鈥� boat, where pairs race to grab their flag; and the Hong Kong-style boat where three boats race to the finish line. In addition to the ancient sport of boat racing, the festival featured pan-Asian performance, arts, food, and educational displays and demonstrations.
