Jack Glesne OBITUARY
We sadly announce that our beloved husband, father and grandfather, John “Jack” Glesne died August 1, 2026, a few weeks before his 87th birthday. Jack was born in Elkader, Iowa in 1939. He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Ron and Gene, and his parents. Jack is survived by his University of Iowa college sweetheart and wife of 64 years, Eve, his children David and Linda, grandchildren Kristin, Erik, Emerson, Ashleigh and Elliot, and brother Ron’s wife Gloria and daughter Michelle, and Gene’s wife Judy and children Tracy, Kirsten, and Tyler, and their grandchildren. After early years of service as an officer in the U.S. Army, Jack worked for AT&T Long Lines in San Francisco and New York before moving to Denver in 1972, where he continued his telephone company executive career with Mountain Bell (U.S. West) until 1990. He and Eve founded and managed an art gallery in the Colorado mountains and then retired full-time to the foothills of Colorado, where they shared their love of hiking, fishing, photography, and traveling. During his life Jack maintained a steadfast enthusiasm for the Denver Broncos and Iowa football, and a love of sharing time with his golden retrievers, his many friends, and family. A memorial service honoring Jack’s life will be held at Wellshire Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
