Celebrating the Life of F. Sharon (Tellier) Lee October 16, 1935 – June 11, 2026 Frances Sharon (Tellier) Lee of St. Joseph, MO passed away at the age of 90 years old. Sharon was born to Frank and Muriel (Wolcott) Tellier at Gilmore City, Humboldt County, Iowa. She was a long-time resident of Castle Rock, Colorado before relocating to Missouri.

She attended various elementary schools throughout the state of Iowa. Her longest time staying anywhere was in Epworth, Iowa, where she attended upper elementary school to her Junior year of High School. She graduated from Burt High School in 1953, but she always thought of Epworth as her home and where most of her happy memories were made.

Early employment was with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, Algona, IA, as a telephone operator. She also worked at U.S.F. & G. Insurance Company, Denver, CO, as a telephone operator. Later in life she worked for the Douglas County Public Library, Castle Rock, CO, as a Research Librarian.

She came to Colorado in 1958 with some friends. Her lifelong passion was family history and genealogy. She was an Honorary Life member of the Columbine Genealogical and History Society in Littleton; she held many offices including president of the society; was a genealogy teacher and a lecturer at many other area societies. Memberships included the National Genealogical Society, having passed their prestigious “American Genealogy: A Basic Course: and the New England Historic Genealogy Society, plus many state societies.

Sharon was married to Benjamin Markley Lee III, a Denver Police Officer, on July 29, 1961, at Central Presbyterian Church in Denver. She became the mother of two stepchildren, Cheryl Lee and Mark Lee. The couple welcomed another son, Doug Lee, born in 1965.

In 2018, Sharon moved to Missouri where she lived in Camden Point and St. Joseph, Missouri until her death.

Survivors are children, Cheryl Stoumbaugh, (Mike) of Westminster, CO, and Doug Lee (Diane) of Stewartsville, MO; grandchildren, Aaron Stoumbaugh (Karmin), Jordan Stoumbaugh, Mark Lee, Christopher Lee, Celina Lee, Betsy McCulley (Jonathan), Cody Lee (Haley), Madelynn Fjellman (Jaren), Emmaline Lee, Zachary Lee; great grandchildren, Timothy Stoumbaugh; Blake and Noelle Stoumbaugh; Jacob, Colton, and Maddie Lee; Rhett, Quinn, and Gia Lee; Axel McCulley; and Colette Fjellman.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Lee, parents, Frank and Muriel Tellier, brother, Richard Tellier, and stepson, Mark Lee. Sharon will be cremated and laid to rest in Marble Valley Cemetery in Gilmore City, Iowa within the Wolcott/Tellier family plot.
