Glen Scott Brougham “Rocky The Leprechaun” Memoriam

Celebrating the Life of Glen Scott Brougham “Rocky the Leprechaun” November 22,1950 – May 4, 2026 Glen Scott “Rocky” Brougham, 75, of Evergreen, CO and Moab, UT, entered eternal rest peacefully, following a stroke, with family and loved ones by his side.

Rocky was born in Kankakee, IL, to Glen and Mary Alice Brougham. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Southern IL University in Carbondale. He proudly served in the USAF as a Loadmaster during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged from military service.

Rocky earned his nickname in childhood through his love for geology and collecting rocks on family vacations to Colorado. He was creative, adventurous, and multi-talented, with a deep love for life and people. He was always willing to help someone in need. Rocky was an entrepreneur, salesman, poet, entertainer, outdoorsman, avid traveler, cave spelunker and white-water rafter. Rocky became widely known and beloved as the “Colorado Leprechaun”. The Colorado House of Representatives 64th General Assembly officially recognized and honored him with that title, and the American Red Cross named him the “Denver Mile High Hero”. Through his fun-loving, Leprechaun spirit, Rocky brought joy to countless people by leading St. Patrick’s Day parades in Denver, CO and Springfield, MO as well as visiting hospitals and schools. He was affectionately known as the unofficial cheerleader of the Denver Broncos, leading fans in cheers and spreading laughter and good luck wherever he went.

Rocky admired his father, who was a salesman. He and his family loved Christmas. This love led him to create “Luckylure Christmas Trees” in Evergreen CO in 1994, known for personalized service with Santa’s Helpers (elves). He was an active member of the Evergreen Elks Lodge 2363. He was the founder of Full Spectrum Promotional Products which was his promotional advertising company for 30 years. In Moab, he worked for Red Rock Radio selling advertising and on KCYN Radio was known as “Moab Mud”. He shared his love of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks by taking friends on tours of the parks.

His mother was a history/PE teacher which inspired him to travel. He visited all 50 states and seven continents. His travels and love for nature was the inspiration for writing his two poetry books, “Poetry of the Parks”: Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park and Rocky Mountain National Park and Colorado.

Rocky is survived by his Significant Other of 26 years, Hillary Hutson and his siblings: Jeff (Thelma) Brougham, Mark (Sylvia) Brougham and Linda (Charlie) Cardella. He will be deeply missed by his family, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

There will be a Military Funeral Honors at Fort Logan where he will be laid to rest. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Evergreen, CO.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Red Cross, Evergreen Elks Lodge 2363, Canyonlands Natural History Association or the American Stroke Association.
