William Louie Dell OBITUARY

Will was born on May 12, 1937 to Adam and Dora (Becker) Dell in Rocky Ford, Colorado. He passed into glory on June 24, 2026 at the age of 89. He was so appreciative of the care and love of niece Kristi Kushner and the hospice nurses. William was a graduate of Rocky Ford High School with the class of 1955. His activities included serving as FFA president and achieving the State Farmer level. He was also student body president and received several scholarships. He played football and wrestled as a Meloneer and was always proud of his hometown. He graduated from Colorado A&M (Colorado State University) with a Bachelor’s dregee in Agriculture. Will joined the Navy and became a pilot. Part of his missions were into hostile territory and he remained a strong partiot all of his life. After his military time he flew for Continental Airlines until he reached their required retirement age. He then flew for UPS.

He married Mary Ellen Quinn and they built a home in Littleton and traveled a lot. She passed and he was down for some time. They had no children so they made a commitment to provide scholarship assistance to numerous nieces and nephews. Many of them achieved a higher education due to his help. He was a very generous and giving man.

Mostly Will was a man of strong faith and a member of the Littleton United Methodist Church where he served as usher.

William was preceded in death by his parents: Adam and Dora Dell; brother Clyde and wife (Geraldine) Dell; sisters Barbara (Dennie) Harris, Debbie (Roger) Hull, Sandy Olson and sister in law Judy Dell. He is survived by brothers Robert (Lydia) of Kremmling, John (Sandie) of Rocky Ford, and Rick Dell of Swink.

Will was a financial genius which allowed his generosity a lot of freedom. Many charities have benefitted from his efforts and gifts.

Services will be held at Littleton United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 30 at 10:00 AM. Make any memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
