Aaron Feight of Arapahoe High School signed a scholarship offer and will be a member of the University of Denver’s swimming and diving team next season.

Feight is the country’s top-ranked diver, according to flipnrip.com, and is a candidate for the 2008 Olympic team, according to DU coach Jeff Carter.

Also signing with the Pioneers was Hannah Duckett of Magnolia, Texas, who was an all-state selection last season and trained under U.S. Olympic coach Kenny Armstrong.

Fort Lewis College signed three Colorado players for next season: Ryan Mortensen of Montezuma-Cortez High School, a point guard and the Southwestern League player of the year; Nick McNabb of Silver Creek, a forward who was first-team all-Northern Conference; and Geoff Willcox of ThunderRidge, a shooting guard who helped the Grizzlies to the 5A title game.

Alysha Beckie of Mullen High School signed to play soccer at Northern Colorado next season.

Utah State beats CSU

Amanda Carver hit a home run in Utah State’s final at-bat to give the Aggies (12-23) a 2-1 victory over Colorado State (25-14) in Logan, Utah.

Mariah Piper went 2-for-3 with a home run and seven RBIs to lead Regis (25-6, 21-2 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) to a 14-0 win over Colorado Mines (17-19, 6-14) in the second game of a doubleheader in Golden. Regis won the first game 11-2.

Sky Sox fall

Andy Green went 5-for-5 and hit a home run to lead the Tucson Sidewinders to a 9-3 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in a Pacific Coast League game.

Regis lacrosse wins

Maggie Cantwell and Chrissy Yetter each had two goals as the Regis women’s lacrosse team defeated Colorado College 17-6 in Colorado Springs.
