Fort Collins – Seven new faces on the roster won’t be the only reason few will recognize next season’s Colorado State basketball team. The influx of newcomers should enable the Rams to play at a much faster tempo this fall.
The last fax arrived Thursday, completing the three-man spring signing period combined with the four players who signed in the fall.
The three incoming freshmen are Chris Harris, a 5-foot-11 point guard from Meridian, Miss.; Kyle Victoria, a 6-3 guard from Elton, La. and Ronnie Aguilar, a 6-11 center for Los Angeles John Marshall.
“Chris is a pure point guard,’ CSU coach Dale Layer said. “He has a great feel for the game. He’s a pass-first player. He’s an extremely athletic, fast player. We will be able to play much more up-tempo with him and Corey (Lewis).’
Lewis is a transfer from Dodge City (Kan.) Junior College.
Layer described Victoria, who averaged nearly 29 points as a senior, as a versatile player. “He scores inside and out. He’s a shooter, he’s a slasher, he can handle (the ball.)’
Aguilar was injured much of his senior year but averaged 13 points and nine rebounds. “He is a tireless worker who is committed to improving his skills every day,’ Layer said.
Fall signee Michael Harrison, 6-10, of Northeastern Junior College also will give the Rams more quickness.
