Marjorie Cone, a senior at Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, is the winner of the 14th annual Margo Ginger Green Memorial Scholarship.

The five-year scholarship is given annually to one Colorado high school student to commemorate a Douglas County woman killed by her estranged husband in 1991. Marjorie will be presented with the award on May 26 at the high school.

Marjorie has been active in tennis and track, each for one year, and softball for four years. This year, she was on the first-team all-state 5A team and was named the senior all-state and conference player of the month.

She has been involved with Volunteers of America and has been a high school math tutor. She also has aided students at Soaring Hawk Elementary in Castle Rock, where she has read to children and helped out in music class.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and school choir, and is a senior class representative for the student council. She also is active in her church youth group.

Marjorie is interested in engineering and plans to attend Colorado School of Mines. She carries a 3.8 grade-point average.
