Colorado Springs – A hiker from Colorado Springs was rescued from Sheep Nose Mountain in the Pike National Forest on Friday afternoon after using a cellphone to call for help.

The hiker was injured and did not know where he was or how long he had been there, authorities said.

Search-and-rescue team members from Douglas County, Teller County and Mountain Communities Fire along with Flight for Life and Woodland Park Ambulance Service were called to help.

A helicopter wasn’t able to get into the rough terrain, so rescue workers had to hike in.
