Post striking out on Big 12
I had always considered your paper one of the “larger” papers in the U.S. However, I am sorely disappointed in the lack of coverage for college baseball – especially any coverage of the Big 12 schools. Just because CU doesn’t have a baseball team, that doesn’t mean people aren’t interested in how the other Big 12 teams are doing. There are many people in this state who would like to get scores or the Big 12 standings, stats, etc. The only coverage you give college baseball is to the Mountain West. How biased!
Yet you print at least two full columns per day of golf standings, which usually don’t change. You give the standings for some bicycle race in Italy, Indy 500 practice speeds, tennis scores from Europe, the projected 2006 U.S. freestyle ski team and lots of other stats most people aren’t interested in. But no college baseball for the Big 12. I realize the sportswriters really “dislike” Nebraska teams; however, if you added up all the subscriptions your paper has from former Nebraskans, Oklahomans, Texans, Kansans, etc., and deducted them from your accounts receivable, you would be making a lot less money. If you want to be considered “big-time,” then act like it and at least give the scores for college baseball. This also goes for any other sport CU does not have, i.e. softball, etc. Let’s get the other Big 12 scores.

What a great time for this so-called superstar to finally get it. The season is over and the REAL players and teams play in May. It’s easy to be a talker and say the right stuff. But what most of the country recently saw was you and your team getting run over by Manu Ginobili and a so-called “old” Robert Horry. Nuggets fans deserve a lot more from this team. Remember, Kiki Vandeweghe did not go after Steve Nash but threw money at a nonshooting forward named Kenyon Martin.
