Session Premium Lager
Everything old is new again.
Full Sail, the employee-owned brewer based in Hood River, Ore., is just out with a new (old) beer in a new (old) package.
Session Premium Lager is described by its maker as a “pre-Prohibition American lager,” the kind produced before mass production took over.
A golden color, something lacking in its big-time rivals, leads to a well-balanced flavor, mild but ideal for summertime consumption. It has a nice aftertaste with a hint of apples.
Session comes in a “stubby,” a short 11-ounce bottle of the type popular in the 1960s, with a predominantly red paper label. All retro.
Bonus: The underside of each bottle cap comes marked with “scissors,” “paper” or “rock,” for the increasingly popular barroom pastime.
Session is available nationwide only in 12-packs.
