Fun events for Dad in Steamboat
Let Dad spend Father’s Day weekend horsing around in Steamboat Springs. The Steamboat Springs Rodeo Series begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Romick Arena at the Howelsen Hill Park Complex. The rodeo is every Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. through Aug. 20. For tickets, call 970-879-0880. Another horse shows its stuff as more than 400 Ford Mustang owners from Rocky Mountain Mustang clubs convene in Steamboat Springs for such activities as a timed event on Friday, and a Show ‘n’ Shine on Saturday. Spectators are welcome at the Meadows parking lot 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for Friday’s Autocross, with more than 180 Mustangs competing. Meet the artists in Breckenridge
The Summit Arts Council’s “Meet the Artist” Show is planned Saturday-June 19 at the Blue River Plaza and the lawn of the Riverwalk Center in downtown Breckenridge. Featuring 34 local artists from Summit County and Colorado, this show provides the public an opportunity to speak with the artists and to purchase their works. Show hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Dancers, musicians and other artists will be performing inside the Riverwalk tent. Call 970-453-0450 or visit summitarts.org.
Wool market in Estes Park
Hands-on children’s activities are part of Estes Park’s Wool Market Saturday-June 19. Held at Stanley Park Fairgrounds off U.S. 36 and Community Drive, sheep, llama, alpaca, Cashmere and Angora goat competitions, fleece contests, and demonstrations are held throughout the weekend. More than 50 booths will be available to purchase woolen goods. Admission to the festival is free; parking is $3 per car. Gates are open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
