Where: Oahu, North Shore
Out and about: I went horseback riding on the beach at the Turtle Bay Resort. It was a 45-
minute ride. We went past a World War II bunker and also a banyan tree forest where they filmed the polar bear scene in the television series “Lost.” Our trail guide was Janna, she was great with kids. It was great riding on the beach. My horse’s name was Daisy; she was very gentle, as were all the horses.
Travel tip: If you are traveling to the North Shore from Waikiki in the morning, it’s best to leave two hours ahead of time. After your horseback ride travel along North Shore and watch the surfers and eat yummy shrimp and a fresh fruit smoothie at one of the shrimp wagons.
