The National Lacrosse League accomplishments of Gary Gait and twin brother Paul Gait can be summed up in a new term – Hall of Famers.
The NLL board of governors voted Wednesday to establish a Hall of Fame, and the Gait brothers are in the inaugural class.
Gary Gait retired from the Colorado Mammoth in April as the NLL’s all-time leader in points (1,091) and goals (596).
Paul Gait also retired in April, after a brief return to the league as a member of the Mammoth. He ranks third in career goals (410) and fourth in points (712).
The NLL also expanded the playoffs from six to eight teams.
