Contractor matching company ServiceMagic Inc. made a match of its own Thursday, acquiring chief rival ImproveNet Inc.
Both companies maintain websites that match homeowners with home-improvement contractors.
Golden-based ServiceMagic will pay $6.72 million, or 12 cents a share, for the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company. The deal is to close in the third quarter.
ImproveNet’s stock, traded on the over-the-counter bulletin board, gained 1 cent to close at 11 cents Thursday.
ServiceMagic employs 350 people in Golden.
