The Colorado Eagles released their 2005-06 Central Hockey League regular-season schedule Monday.
The Eagles will open the season Oct. 21 at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland against the Laredo Bucks, the team they defeated in the 2005 President’s Cup Finals.
The Eagles will follow by hosting seven out of the next 10 games at the Events Center, including games against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, Wichita Thunder and the Memphis RiverKings.
Wyoming names volleyball assistant coach
The University of Wyoming hired Teron Uy as an assistant coach for the Cowgirls volleyball team.
Uy spent the past four years at the University of Washington, where he served as a volunteer assistant coach (2003-04) and technical director (2001-03) for the program.
He also spent two years as head coach at Skyline High School, and served as an assistant coach at Seattle University.
Volleyball teams reach qualifier
Curtis Griffin of Boulder and Vince Robbins from Denver won the men’s title at the Colorado Professional Volleyball Association tournament at Arapahoe County Community Park in Dove Valley on Sunday.
Tanya Bond of Aurora and Val Duringer of Larkspur won the women’s championship.
Both teams earned a berth to the Aug. 26 AVP Boulder Open qualifier, part of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour’s Aug. 26-28 Boulder Open.
The Boulder Open will feature three-time Olympic gold medalist Karch Kiraly, and 2004 Olympic gold medalists Kerri Walsh and Misty May, bronze-medal winners Holly McPeak and Elaine Youngs, 2004 AVP MVP Mike Lambert and 2000 Olympic gold medalists Dain Blanton and Eric Fonoimoana.
