University of Colorado president Hank Brown announced Thursday he will eliminate another administrative position and that a top administrator will go on leave, saving the school $223,000.
Brown appointed Don Eld hart, who is chief investment officer, to the position of treasurer, eliminating Eld hart’s previous job.
He also announced that Jack Burns, vice president for academic affairs and research, will take leave until Oct. 15 to work on a partnership with Lockheed-Martin and the University of Texas for a contract at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Burns will be replaced by Michel Dahlin, administrative liaison to the faculty council.
Eldhart will be paid $145,000 and a $7,200 car allowance – about $85,000 less than the previous treasurer.
