Wild Oats Markets Inc.

The Boulder-based retailer of natural and organic foods on Thursday said second-quarter sales increased 13.1 percent and comparable-store sales increased 5.4 percent. For the period ended July 2, net income was $900,000, or 3 cents per diluted share, compared with a loss of $300,000, or 1 cent per share in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter was $284.6 million, compared with $251.7 million last year.

Western Gas Resources Inc.

The Denver-based natural-gas producer said net income for the period ended June 30 was $33.3 million, or 44 cents per share, compared with $14 million, or 19 cents per share, for the same period of 2004. Results include a $3.8 million after-tax charge related to a previously announced litigation settlement, which reduced earnings by 5 cents per share. Revenues increased 18.6 percent to $861.2 million from $726.3 million last year.

Dex Media Inc.

The Arapahoe County-based publisher of yellow- and white-page directories reported second-quarter net income of $18.8 million, or 12 cents per share, compared with a loss of $4.1 million, or 4 cents per share. Revenues increased 4.2 percent to $413.5 million, compared with $396.7 million last year.

Bill Barrett Corp.

The Denver- based oil and gas company on Wednesday reported a second- quarter loss of of $15.9 million, or 37 cents per share, after recording a noncash impairment of $36.3 million related to some properties in the Wind River Basin. That compared to a profit of $3 million in the similar period of 2004. Revenues increased to $54 million from $40.5 million last year.

Williams Cos.

The biggest U.S. operator of natural-gas pipelines posted second-quarter profit of $41.3 million as the company’s production business pumped more fuel and sold it at higher prices. Net income was 7 cents a share, which compared with a loss of $18.2 million, or 3 cents, a year earlier, Tulsa, Okla.-based Williams said Thursday in a statement. Revenue fell 5.9 percent to $2.87 billion.
