La La Vasquez is looking to expand her horizons beyond her MTV DJ gig and her engagement to Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony.
Vasquez told The Denver Post’s Adam Thompson at Anthony’s basketball camp in Lakewood that she has been working with an acting teacher and auditioning for roles in Los Angeles.
“I’m looking at some things fanning out over the next couple of months on the acting side,” Vasquez said.

The actress canceled a publicity tour after a British paper ran an interview with her that focused largely on Cruise and fiancée Katie Holmes, MSNBC.com reported. Rogers, in England for the World Poker Exchange, “granted an interview, and they make it mostly about Tom,” an insider said. “And she wasn’t terribly happy with the pictures they used, either.”

Michael Jackson’s $2 million agreement to be interviewed by the new U.S. version of OK! magazine has not been finalized. A source told the New York Post: “(Jackson) won’t sign until he gets the money, and OK! won’t give him the money until he signs.”
Also, a custody and visitation agreement with ex-wife Debbie Rowe is not a done deal either. Jackson’s lawyer Michael Abrams on Tuesday claimed “a settlement is in sight,” but Rowe’s attorney, Iris Finsilver, denied Abrams’ claims. “They say, ‘Loose lips sink ships.’ Well, by speaking with the press, Mr. Abrams has sunk a settlement at this point,” Finsilver said.
Dr. Phil McGraw has signed a five-year extension of his syndication deal, King World Productions Inc. announced. “Dr. Phil,” second among syndicated talk shows behind “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” is signed through the 2013-2014 season. KCNC-Channel 4 airs “Dr. Phil” at 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
