The fire ban issued July 22 for unincorporated parts of Jefferson County was lifted Friday morning after drenching rains reduced the likelihood of wildfires, the Sheriff’s Office announced.
Fire restrictions remain in effect and include no fires outside of permanent grates, no smoking except within a vehicle or building and the withdrawal of burn permits that were previously issued but not used.
