Kristen Clark, 34, was arrested on a kidnapping charge Sunday in Grand Junction after she allegedly took her daughter, who lives with her father in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

She was arrested by the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office late Sunday morning in a trailer park near the junction of U.S. 6 and U.S. 50.

Denver police issued an Amber Alert on Saturday after the girl was reported missing.

A warrant for Clark on a second-degree kidnapping charge was issued by Denver police. She was being held in Grand Junction on $20,000 bond, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Clark did not have custody of her 14-year-old daughter, Quincy Ross Clark, Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

The girl was uninjured and in good spirits, according to Mesa County sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Byrne, and she was taken into protective custody.

Clark was arrested after Denver police received a tip that she might be at the trailer park. Byrne said it appeared Clark had been staying with a male friend at the trailer park for several weeks.

At the trailer park, officers identified a white Plymouth Voyager with Utah plates that Clark was driving, Byrne said.

Clark was taken into custody without incident, Byrne said. Her male friend was not arrested.

Officers were unable to locate a second woman thought to be traveling with Clark, Byrne said.
