Boulder – Colorado wide receiver Blake Mackey is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, the team said today.

Mackey was injured in practice on Sunday and the tear was found in a medical examination today. Surgery was scheduled for Friday.

Mackey, a junior, caught 26 passes for 417 yards and a touchdown last season. He and senior Evan Judge were both listed first on the depth chart at wide receiver.

Colorado had already lost tailback Brandon Caesar and cornberback Terrence Wheatley for the season, Caesar for a torn knee tendon and Wheatley for complications from a dislocated wrist.
