Broomfield-based InsightAmerica was acquired this week by Acxiom Corp., a technology company in Little Rock, Ark., for an undisclosed amount.

InsightAmerica, a privately held electronic aggregator of personal and business information, employs 100 people at Interlocken Park. Acxiom provides systems management services to companies globally.

The acquisition gives Acxiom the fraud-prevention services that InsightAmerica provides through background checks and access to public information.

InsightAmerica operates InsightCollect.com, which serves the collection and debt- recovery industry. It also runs FlatRateInfo.com, which provides corporate security information.

“InsightAmerica has had a long-term strategic plan of building a strong national presence in risk mitigation. The Acxiom family gives us a venue to do that,” said Ron Fournet, chief executive for Insight America. “This is a growth opportunity for Acxiom, and we expect to add staff,” he said, adding that the company expects to remain in Broomfield.

Acxiom has made several acquisitions in recent months. In May, the company acquired Digital Impact, a California-based digital marketing company, for $106.6 million in cash.

The price tag for the Insight America deal will be made available in filings later this year.

InsightAmerica was founded in 1994 by former Denver Business Journal writer Lee Sands.
