A rock slide Saturday on Fall River Road in Idaho Springs caused the closure of westbound lanes of Interstate 70. The slide happened around 8:45 p.m.

No injuries or fatalities were reported, said Mike Murray, a spokesman with the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Westbound drivers were rerouted to exit 241 A in Idaho Springs, Murray said.

Heavy rains in the mountains Saturday probably caused the rock slide, Murray said.

CDOT crews were removing rock debris, and westbound lanes of I-70 should be open by early this morning, officials said.
